William H. Horton Selected For Inclusion in Super Lawyers, Business Litigation 2010
Troy, Michigan, February 19, 2010: William H. Horton was recently named to Michigan Super Lawyers® as a result of a survey by Law & Politics Media, Inc. He was selected through a process which included peer evaluation and independent research. Only five percent of the attorneys in Michigan were named to the Super Lawyers list.
Mr. Horton is a managing partner of the firm and has 25 years experience in the areas of business and commercial disputes, employment law, and real estate. He is certified as a Civil Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.

to speak at University of Michigan.
“An Introduction to Careers in Health Law”
Joseph F. Page will be a guest speaker at the University of Michigan on March 10, 2010 at a presentation by the State Bar of Michigan Health Care Law Section entitled “An Introduction to Careers in Health Law”. Mr. Page will discuss and answer questions about the practice of health law in varied settings.
Mr. Page has over 35 years of experience in the health care field, providing legal advice and services at every level of health care law from senior executive of large health care organizations to private practitioners. He represents hospitals and other non-profit health care institutions, large physician organizations, group practices and solo practitioners in corporate, regulatory, transactional and risk management issues including Stark II, HIPAA, Anti-Kickback and the False Claims Act.

Michael L. Bosnic
Mr. Bosnic concentrates his practice in the areas of school district and municipal
representation and litigation. Mike has extensive experience working with school
districts and municipalities. He is currently serving his third term on the Clawson Board
of Education, and is its former President. Mike received an Award of Merit from the
Michigan Association of School Boards for his work on the Clawson Board of Education.
He has successfully represented a number of Oakland County communities in District
and Circuit Courts, and is currently involved with numerous municipalities through his
judicially appointed work with Drug Treatment/Sobriety Courts in Troy, Novi and
Waterford. Mike also successfully represents clients in Federal Court, having
prosecuted their claims for age and gender discrimination, he obtained a record jury
verdict against the Internal Revenue Service. He was featured on the cover of the
February 10, 2003 edition of Michigan Lawyers Weekly.
Mr. Bosnic is on the Executive Committee of the Oakland County Republican
Party, has been elected Treasurer of the 9th Congressional District, served as legal
counsel/parliamentarian for the Policy Committee, served as a delegate to the 2008
Republican National Convention, and in 2008 was elected to be the nominee for the
Oakland County Commission seat in District 19 (Troy and Clawson). Appointed by the
2008 Senate Majority Leader to serve on a panel to create greater efficiencies in the
operation of Michigan school districts.
Mr. Bosnic is a graduate of Michigan State University (BA 1991) and is a Life
member of the MSU Alumni Association, graduate of Notre Dame Law School (JD
1994). He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, has obtained an “AV” rating from
Martindale Hubbell, and is admitted to practice in the US District Court in Michigan
(Eastern District) and the US Court of Appeals, 6th Circuit.

Albert Taylor Nelson, Jr. is of counsel to the firm and specializes in litigation and workers’ compensation. Mr. Nelson received his
Bachelor of Arts degree in history and his Master of Arts degree in Public Administration from the University of Detroit. He received his law degree from Wayne State University. Prior to practicing law, Mr. Nelson taught Social Studies at the nationally renowned Cass
Technical High School in Detroit, Michigan.
Over the years, Mr. Nelson has been active in the community, involving himself with numerous civic and professional organizations. In
March 2008, he became a fellow of the ABA College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers, a national organization established to honor
distinguished workers’ compensation attorneys. In March 2009, Mr. Nelson was elected to the College’s Board of Directors. Further, he is a board member of the American Red Cross Southeastern Michigan Blood Services, serving as Secretary and on the Executive Committee.
Additionally, Mr. Nelson is the chair for the City of Troy’s Personnel Board; and member of Detroit Workplace Development
Commission. Other civic and community board and member affiliations include the Economic Club of Detroit, life member, Optimist
Youth Foundation of Detroit, board member; Optimist Club of Northwest Detroit, member; and Detroit City Year, board member.
Formerly, Mr. Nelson was an appointed public member to the Board of Optometry, and served as Chair of the Jurisprudence and
Disciplinary Sub-Committees; board member of Girl Scout Council of Southeastern Michigan and Vice Chair and First Vice President
of Booker T. Washington Business Association. He was also a former trustee of the Detroit Historical Society, Michigan Library and
Historical Center and Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Michigan.

Kristin graduated from the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University in 2002, and upon acceptance to Michigan
State University College of Law was the recipient of the Dean King Scholarship for academic achievement. During her graduate
studies, she was involved in two legal clinics on campus; the Tax Clinic and the flagship semester of the Small Business and
Nonprofit Clinic. Kristin also served as vice-president of the Business Law Society at MSU College of Law.
Kristin graduated from the College of Law in 2005 with concentrations in both Corporate Law and Litigation; being selected for
and completing the Trial Practice Institute certificate program. She was admitted to practice law in Michigan in 2005. Kristin is a
member of the sections of Employment and Workers’ Compensation Law, Business Law, Litigation and the Young Lawyers Division
of the Michigan Bar Association. She is also a member of the American Bar Association and the Oakland County Bar Association.
Kristin serves the community by participating as a trustee to the Detroit Historical Society. member of the Marketing,
Communications and Outreach Committee of the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy, Women’s Committee for Hospice Care,

Mr. Prince joins the firm as a seasoned litigator. Mr. Prince focuses his practice in the areas of commercial and civil litigation, labor and employment law and corporate law. Mr. Prince is a Case Evaluator for the Wayne County Circuit Court Mediation Tribunal, and
Oakland County Circuit Court Mediation Tribunal. Mr. Prince was admitted to practice in the State of Michigan. He is also admitted to
practice in the United States District Court, Eastern District of Michigan, U.S. Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit and U.S. Supreme Court.
Mr. Prince is active in the community and is currently a member of the State Bar of Michigan, American Bar Association, National Bar
Association, Augustus D. Straker Bar Association, and Wolverine Bar Association.
He was recently appointed by the Mayor of the City of Novi, Michigan and the Novi City Council as a Commissioner on the City
Planning Commission for the City of Novi, Michigan.
Mr. Prince obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and History from the University of Michigan, and his Juris Doctorate from Howard University School of Law in Washington, D.C. During law school Mr. Prince worked as a law clerk in the General Counsel’s Office of the Federal Election Commission. Following graduation from law school Mr. Prince was a Research Attorney for the

Katherine Trust has joined the firm as an Associate in the Business Litigation Section.
Katherine graduated cum laude from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and is a member of the Justice Frank Murphy Honor Society, an honor reserved for the top 10% academically of her graduating class.
During law school, Katherine served as an Associate Editor for the University of Detroit Mercy Law Review and is a published author. She also served as teaching assistant for a legal research and writing course. Katherine received numerous academic awards for her academic excellence throughout her legal education.
Katherine received her B.S. in Business, graduating cum laude from Hope College.
Before attending law school, Katherine served as an intern at The White House and worked at the United States Department of Education in Washington, D.C.

Bruce Haffey contributed franchising expertise in the Crain’s Detroit Business article “Small Business Two Sides of Franchising” in the May 18, 2009 edition.
Bruce Haffey has handled complex business transactions for small and middle market business clients for over 25 years. He practices primarily in the areas of business planning, commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, franchise law and taxation.
Mr. Haffey is active in federal, state and county bar association activities, and is a past-Chairman of the Oakland County Bar Association Taxation Committee. He has written a number of articles on business and tax subjects, and is a frequent speaker. He is a partner of the firm and a member of the Board of Directors.

Mr. Warwick has extensive experience in defending physicians and hospitals in medical malpractice lawsuits. He also specializes in professional liability, product liability, complex litigation/catastrophic injury, automotive liability and personal injury cases.

Mr. Dunn has significant experience in air, water, wetlands and soil erosion permitting and enforcement, hazardous substance land clean-up matters, Brownfield re-development, environmental real estate transactions, including due diligence and environmental site assessments, water and inland matters, and environmental litigation and agency enforcement defense.
Mr. Dunn has represented an array of Fortune 500 companies, including automotive suppliers and manufacturers, cement producers, chemical manufacturers and distributors, utilities and electricity generators, financial institutions, petroleum suppliers, metal coating and finishing companies, various municipal road and drain authorities and real estate developers
Mr. Dunn received his undergraduate degree from University of Michigan and his Juris Doctor degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. At the annual shareholder meeting of Giarmarco, Mullins & Horton, P.C. held on March 21, 2009, the Shareholders elected Gilbert Gugni, Bruce W. Haffey and Daniel J. Kelly to the Board of Directors.
Mr. Gugni is the Section Head of the Firm’s Family Law Group. He is also a Partner and one of the Firm’s Managing Directors. Mr. Gugni has over 30 years of litigation experience, and presently concentrates his practice entirely to family law.
Bruce W. Haffey is a shareholder in the Business Practice Group. He practices primarily in the areas of business planning, commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, franchise law, and taxation.
Daniel J. Kelly concentrates his practice in the areas of school and municipal civil litigation. He has successfully defended numerous school districts, municipalities, employers and insurers at all levels of the litigation process before state, federal and appellate courts.

Mr. Lebedinski is a member of the Business Practice Group and concentrates his practice in the areas of corporate and international law, immigration law and business transactions.
As part of his practice, Mr. Lebedinski assists foreign and international companies with establishing presence in the United States and prepares contracts for international sales, distribution and joint ventures. He assists international and U.S. companies with obtaining employment visas and green cards for its foreign workers. He also develops successful business planning strategies and prepares and negotiates terms and conditions of sale of goods.
Mr. Lebedinski obtained his law degree from University of Detroit Mercy in 2004. He is fluent in Russian language and is a member of the American Bar Association, American Immigration Lawyers Association, and International Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan.

The seminar will address various issues on how to prepare Qualified Domestic Relations Orders, and how to handle the division of retirement plans in light of the declining economy and turbulent stock market.
