James Y. Rayis


Experience and Leadership:

James Rayis advises and represents corporate and business clients, both American and foreign. His practice involves all aspects of business transactions and expansion, including international growth through acquisitions, joint ventures, agents and distributors, as well as establishing new operations abroad. James works in areas of trade and customs law and in government contracts and procurement issues, including government contract disputes and challenges. Mr. Rayis represents numerous foreign corporations in their establishment and operations in the United States.

James has been active in business and professional organizations as well as in areas of international human rights and justice. Mr. Rayis was appointed U.S. presidential delegate to the International Association of Younger Lawyers (AIJA) based in Brussels. He served as chairman of the American Bar Association's Middle East Committee of the Section of International Law and served as chair of the Section of International Law of the State Bar of Georgia. He engaged in an ABA exchange mission to Cuba to learn about that country's legal and governmental system. He also served as director of a U.S. State Department program, Global Justice Project: Iraq based in Baghdad. James also served as a director of the Chaldean Assyrian National Council of America, the Assyrian Universal Alliance legal advisor and as a director of the Danish American Chamber of Commerce (Southeast).
